The highlight of the festival is the grand procession of Lord Alagar, who is carried in a palanquin from Alagar Kovil to the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, covering a distance of about 20 kilometers. The procession, known as Alagar Koyil Ther Thiruvizha, attracts thousands of devotees who gather to witness the divine journey of Lord Alagar and seek his blessings.
